Doorhop is an independent planning tool for Open House New York Weekend. It turns a wish list into a day that has a chance of happening.
The route math
We order your selected destinations geographically, then estimate travel time using a free, deterministic Manhattan-distance fallback. Visit duration, opening windows and a human buffer all count. Subway estimates are deliberately conservative; walking-only routes are slower.
The intervention
Relaxed routes leave more breathing room. Normal routes balance FOMO and reality. “I refuse to learn” reduces the buffer to show the maximum plausible plan. The result is a recommendation, not a reservation.
Official information
Every destination retains its source URL. Official OHNY information controls if hours, tickets or access requirements differ. The public lineup is imported through an admin CSV/JSON workflow rather than scraped aggressively.
Data we keep
Planner state is saved locally on your device so an active itinerary remains available offline. Shared routes add a noindex, nofollow marker and use unguessable URL state. No account or precise GPS is required.
